A bursary of up to €500 is available for attendance at relevant conferences, with a total budget of €5000. Awards will be made on a first-come-first-served basis. Applications can be made at any time.

Criteria

  1. General:
    • The applicant should be an early-career researcher (with a maximum of 10 years of research experience since completing their PhD), or PhD student.
    • The applicant must be appointed at an EOHA full member institute.
    • The applicant did not receive an EOHA grant in the preceding 3 years.
    • Only one travel grant will be awarded per institute per year.
  1. The conference can be anywhere, but the subject must be relevant to the mission of the EOHA:
    • The European One Health Association unites its members to promote a One-Health approach to combat zoonoses and support a healthy and sustainable food supply chain across Europe (and beyond) by:
      • Building a sustainably integrated European network of public institutes and academic institutions in the domains of animal health, food safety, medical/public health and related/relevant environmental sciences.
      • Fostering One Health research regarding zoonotic diseases and AMR at the interface of humans, animals and the environment.
      • Contributing to strengthening the joint EU capacity to prevent, detect and control zoonoses and AMR in Europe and beyond.
  1. The research in the submitted abstract should preferably use a One Health (cross-sectoral) approach.
  1. Requests to support conference attendance and/or EOHA related meetings without a clear objective to develop collaborations will NOT be considered.
  1. Applicants should present either a talk or a poster.
    • Posters should include:
      • Acknowledgment of EOHA support and EOHA logo on the poster.
      • Poster to appear on EOHA website after the conference.  
    • Talks should include:
      • Acknowledgment of EOHA support and EOHA logo on acknowledgment slide.
      • Abstract of talk to appear on EOHA website preferably illustrated by a slide from the talk.
  1. Applicants should provide:
    • Conference programme – or provisional programme if not finalised at time of registration – to demonstrate relevance.
    • Full costings for travel/conference registration etc. Reimbursement will be strictly limited to the costs of travel, accommodation and registration.
    • Abstract for the talk or poster to be presented.
  1. Within 6 weeks of attending the conference please submit to the EOHA project manager:
    • A one-page report.
    • A PDF of the poster or a slide/picture from the talk, to appear on the EOHA website

An application form can be downloaded below. After sending the application form to the Project Manager Anouk Meijs ([email protected]), it will be evaluated by the EOHA Management Team. The outcome will be communicated to the applicant within 1-4 weeks.
